HEADS. BY: ALVARO TAPIA HIDALGO

This illlustration brings many iconic faces together for one big head party. What relation do these heads have with one another? Not much, but they are fun to look at.

One of our neighbours keeps Geckos and brought a couple over to see us. They kept changing colour which was rather interesting! Focus was difficult as she was holding this one at the time.

MONEY

"I came into music just because I wanted the bread. It's true. I looked around and this seemed like the only way I was going to get the kind of bread I wanted"

"I don't really count myself as a very sophisticated businessperson. I'm a creative artist. All I know from business I've picked up along the way."

Social Media Ads from the 1940's

Posted 2011-07-27 07:38:11 | Views: 21,210

The Future is Here.

What if social media existed in the 1940's, 50's and 60's? What would the ads look like? These cool graphic posters might give you some insight. Okay, not really but they are pretty brilliant.

lol, check out the camera on the desk. I guess they would use film back then and transfer it?

When you check your Twitter on your iphone, back then it came a little bigger. I'm digging the old logo too.

Even the dog wants in on Skype. You can't deny that you much rather use that retro space age computer then your crappy PC or Mac.

I don't know what's more creepy, the picture frame of the guy looking up at the lady as she checks out her wall posts, or that questionable shaped phone.

Yong Ho Ji: Making Animals Out of Tires

Posted 2011-07-26 16:24:24 | Views: 15,586
is a Korean artist who uses old, recycled tire scraps to make these amazing animal sculptures. ‘Mutant mythos’ is the name of the collection. Love his creative choice of medium. Yonh Ho Ji uses this material because of its flexibility and its close approximation to skin and muscles. It almost look like they are made out of liquorice. The choice of medium itself poses questions about the values of modern society, the car industry and its constant production of new tires which can be seen as a symbol of consumerism. And the title for his mutant series leads the thoughts back to Charles Darwin’s ‘origin of species’ emphasizing the need for living things to adapt in order to survive. His somewhat scary looking sculptures take the shape of sharks, wolves, spiders, deers and buffalos. He is represented by 33 Bond gallery in NYC.
