Who are some of the photographers you like working with best?

It has been a real pleasure to work with Beguiling Images. He has given me most of my all time favorite images. Sam from S.H. Photography is so good at what he does, I loved working with him. Nick Saglimbeni from Slickforce Studios was a blast. Ken Marcus is such a character, his studio is like this huge adult playground. Isaac Madera is also great to have worked with.


How do you feel about gay marriage?


I'm all for gay marriage. I don't understand why people get upset over gay marriage.

Are you a natural red head?

I'm not a natural red head. I was a very light blonde up until now.


If we steal your ipod what would be listening to?

Dion, Mickey and Sylvia, Chuck Berry, Elvis and of course Frank Sinatra. Stuff like that.

Your beauty is striking. Where do you get your looks from? Where is your family from?

Thank you very much. I get told I look like my mother, just with different colored eyes. Hers are green. My mother is Irish and English. My father is Cherokee Indian.

What are some publications you worked with in the past.

Skin Art, Alt girl and there are others I recently worked with that should be coming out soon.

Which ones would you like to work with in the near feature?

Goodness, there are so many. Obviously tattoo magazines, and Leg Show is a cool one. I am big on hair and makeup, so magazines that showcase hair/makeup would be fun too.

Do you have a boyfriend? if so how does he feel about it I do have a wonderful boyfriend. I'm not sure if you are asking me how he feels about me modeling or about me modeling nude? Either way he is very supportive. We work together a lot. He is an experienced photographer specializing in artistic adult content so nude modeling isn't a big deal to him.

What do you look for in a man? I'm not looking for a man, but being very smart and quick witted is such a turn on.

You have a vast amount of model work you have done. What were some of the most recent projects you have worked on that the folks may not know about?


I'm currently on the cover of Skin Art magazine. It will be on stands till June. I have a couple other magazine works coming out in the near future as well. My paysite is also a constant project.

Your the first model we interview that does nude work, was it easy for you to take pictures in all the flesh?


Its easy for me to take nude pictures, but I don't take nude pictures just for the fun of it. All of my nude work has been paid and/or is for my members only website ispyvanessalake.com

Any creepy stories?


I have been fortunate to not have any creepy modeling stories. But when I was around 20 years old I was living in Santa Barbara and filling out a job application for this adult bookstore and a bizarre creepy homeless man harassed me. I was sitting on the curb of the street and the man walks in front of me (besides blocking my sun he gave off such a horrible odor) and punching his fist into the palm of his other hand says in scruffy voice " wanna die young or you wanna die old?!" I thought it must be a joke and started laughing and said "old...duh". I guess he didn't like that answer because he proceeded to say he was going to "pull my hair out " with other profanities. Not my hair!! My hair is my favorite attribute so I thought to myself, what can I do if he actually tries to pull my hair out? All I had to defend myself was my job application and the pen I was writing with.So my options were paper cutting him or stabbing him with my dinky little pen which grossed me out to think about. While my thoughts were processing he continued to get louder and louder, until he was shouting all the horrible things he was going to do to me. Keep in mind he is about a foot away from my face. One of those real close talkers no one likes. What the hell was I going to do? I looked around frantically for someone to save me, but nobody wanted to get involved with this insane man. They just wanted to stare from a safe distance away. Turds. I couldn't believe it when 3 cops walk out of a little deli 2 shops down and intervene. They told me they heard the man yelling at me from inside. I shared with them all the nice things the crazy man shouted at me and they arrested him. The cops said he was going to apologize to me and immediately I think oh no he is going to try and spit on me or something. But he didn't. He apologized and they escorted him away and put him the back of their car. I never did get hired at that adult bookstore either, haha.


What's the end game? Can you tell us what some of your major goals are?


My main goal at this point is to focus on turning my paysite, http://www.ispyvanessalake.com , into a successful enterprise. Nothing beats taking sexy photos and making your own schedule!

Okay, first question. If you had to say what kind of model you are, what would you say?
I don't like to put myself into categories.. Because that limits my job :) I model and I also do hosting.

You got the whole punk vibe going, were you into punk rock growing up? if so what bands did you follow?
Oh Yes!! that was the scene I grew up in... I love 7 Seconds, Nobodys, the Queers, Pinhead Gunpowder, Misfits ...

What are your favorite shoots to date?
wow.. that's a hard question to answer... hmm well id have to say the Callowlily photos by photographer Michelle X Star.. Callowlily paints and makes jewelry that emulate her paintings... Michelle and Callowlily decided to create real pics replicating the paintings.. so it made the paintings more of a reality.. they turned out so cool and i was flattered to be asked to be apart of it all :)

You are getting married? How does your fiance feel about your modeling?
he is highly supportive.. he is so encouraging and helpful.. he is awesome


What do you think about Suicide girls, have they ever approached you ?
too be honest.. I'm not a fan of nude modeling.. Its just not for me.. Anyone can get naked in front of a camera and call themselves a model.. I don't need the attention or to be disrespectful to my body .. It can be an art form but suicide girls is just not for me..

How did you get into the whole modeling thing, what got you started?
well I was 12 and i started modeling for Limited Too (clothing line) I just started making it more of my main focus within the last 7 years

Any new shoots we should know about?

I travel all over the world and interview bands for their latest tour news and album release. I love hosting.

What do you do when your not modeling?
Well as stated above I host, but other than that ... well I'm just a regular laid back person... I love spending time with my fiancee and my dog.. I'm really quite boring ha ha!

How did you get involved into modeling, where has it taken you so far?

I got involved with modeling after i began getting tattooed. I like collecting old stuff I'd find in thrift and vintage stores so it mostly started with that... I created my own style.

You are big into tattoo culture, what was the first tat you got? What got you into it?

Yes I am. I do tattoos for a living, so I eat, sleep, and breathe the tattoo culture. It’s truly a romance. The first tattoo I got was for my 15th birthday. A tramp stamp! I just chose something off the wall, I just wanted to experience the process of getting tattooed, and wanted to chose something quick... I was afraid my mom would change her mind and drag me out of the tattoo shop!

You do tattoo art as well, tell us about that and your shop you work from

I work at True Love Tattoo in Margate, Florida. I've been tattooing for about 2 years now. I work with some of the best artists in all of south Florida. Come by sometime! 1400 N State Road 7.

How many do you have?

Not sure, probably 30 or 40 tattoos. I don’t really keep count!

Any plans for any new tattoos, if so what are you planning on getting next?

I dont really plan my tattoos. But the last tattoo I did plan was in honor of my favorite singer. I have a crazy obsession with Morrissey. So I got a pocket watch with a banner that says "How soon is now", which is one of my favorite Morrissey songs.

Is there anything you won't do in front of the camera? if so what?

umm I'm pretty comfortable with myself. so I like to produce eye catching images with creative people. as long as it doesnt transfer into something raunchy, I'm all for it! I've had the chance to work with some amazing artists all over the country. I'm grateful!

Does it end with modeling in front of the camera? Where would you like to take it?

I would say it does. tattooing is my main priority. I model because its a fun experience and the feedback I receive is always positive. People always want to see more. So yea, I'll give it to them! But tattooing has my heart 110%.


You grew up in Miami, but live in Ft. Lauderdale now? Where's the best place to get a tattoo in Miami other then your shop?

I started tattooing at Ochoplacas tattoo on 8th street in Miami. Those guys over there are beyond amazing. The shop was opened by the late Jose Luis Carrera, who was one of my mentors and one of the people who taught me to tattoo. he recently passed away, so
if you cant make it to Fort Lauderdale, definitely go see them. Best shop in Miami!

Who are some of the photographers you work with, how is each shoot different?

I've worked with Viva Van Story, Shannon Brooked, Frank DeBlase, Roy Varga and several others. Every shoot is different every time. Our moods change. The settings change. the themes change. i have a different relationship with each and try to create an awesome photo with our chemistry. I believe timing is everything.

You are Latina? Where from? Are there many latin women like you that do the type of modeling you do? if so anyone you admire in general?

Yes i am Latina. I was Born in Venezuela. my father is cuban and my mother is Venezuelan. I dont beleive there are many latina pinup models over here on the East Coast, but over on the west, there are several latina pinups that come out with great stuff!


What do you do on your past time?

I like to travel. any time that I can hop on a plane, I will. It's the best feeling to get off that plane and smell the difference in the atmosphere. I believe that a change of scenery does great things for the mind.

Any tattoos you regret? If so which one and why

ha-ha NO REGRETS! Well I am removing the tattoos i have on my chest; I will be covering them up soon. The only thing I regret is not doing my research and getting tattooed by someone who didn’t know what they were doing.

What was it like growing up in Fort Lauderdale? That area of FL is known for porno. Have you had people go up to you about that type of work. How do you feel about it?

 despite what my pictures may come off as, i'm extremely prude. prude sense of humor. prude morals. i have nothing against people who do porn, its a living BUT i personally would never do it. I've had people offer money for topless shoots and i always refuse. i want to be presentable for any guy i date to bring me home to mommy haha

You got a total punk rock look. Is there genera in modeling big for that?

not at all actually, lots of girls color their hair and take a few phone pictures and BAM they're "models" haha puts me in a tough place because i sort of have to stand my ground in the modeling world and let people know i'm a different kind of alternative model.

You really use the internet for showing what you do, is that how it started for you?

no, when i was younger i use to have long blonde hair and all of my mothers friends would always say how i should model. so one day i sent out my pictures to a small agency and they ate it up like hot cakes haha i started doing little fashion shows around my city and then started using the internet as a booster seat.

Who have been some of the people that have taken your pictures? Which ones have been your favorite?

- Jeff Catt is one of my personal favorites. He is also a friend of mine, I adore him and his work :) also Matt Bigelow, Chelsea Denien, and Chris Martin are some favorite photographers I've worked with.

 How many guys hit on you online? How do you deal with it since there's a lot of weirdos out there.

- I don't tolerate inappropriate idiots haha i know i wont be able to stop all the perverts in the world but i'd like to try haha i don't care if im butt naked in the middle of the street, you have no right to comment on it haha i know everyone says "well if you don't like it then why dress the way you do in photos" my answer to that is "bite me.. i wear bikinis in photos and thats no less than what i'd wear to the beach". point is tons of guys hit on me everyday. they say the most ridiculous things but it doesn't do anything for me. i appreciate the compliments but it stops there.

You are in a relationship? Tell us about that. I'm sure your fans are dying to know

- i am, i'm extra private when it comes to boys. lots of "word on the street" type situations come up where people think im dating this and that guy from this and that band but they have no idea haha lets just say any guy i'm dating earned it haha

 So, your half french? Do you speak it? What else are you mixed up with?

i'm french and native american, i speak french but only when i'm in a fight with someone haha :-)

                                               
How did you get into modeling? Where do you want to take it?

i want to take it to where ever it can take me!! it's the only "job" i have ever had that hasn't bored me yet haha the people you meet are amazing and though not all are good people it's an adventure that my friends will never experience.

You must be freezing your ass off in Chicago. Can't believe you left South FLA. Must be hard doing photo shoots?

the other day i was shooting w/ matt bigelow on the roof of a building and my fingers turned blue! haha chicago is much different but the city and its people are amazing.

What are some of the things people don't know about you? Hobbies and other interests?

umm, the biggest thing people don't know about me.. or wouldn't expect from me, i guess is that i'm not a party animal haha i may have pink hair but i honestly stay home everyday and play with my gerbil and watch harry potter EVERYDAY!! i don't drink or smoke. i don't think its famine to be seen doing such things and i'm totally not exciting haha

Your pink hair is your trademark in my eyes, any other colors coming along?

i actually just colored my hair brown! my hair is what most people identify me by but the more success i come across the more i'll make sure to knock down those walls. i want to be known for my face. or my banging bod haha (bad joke)

Any type of photography you want to try? What will you stay away from?

i will without a doubt stay away from perverted amateur type shoots. maybe high fashion is my next step.

Would you ever be an artists model? :-)

i've never been asked to do that before, but whooo knows!!

Anything you have learned along the way doing modeling thus far? any advice to younger girls staring out?

i've learned who i am as a person. meeting as many sketchy people as i've meet only showed me what NOT to do. advice wise, DONT and i mean DO NOT get wrapped up in the whole drama/crap talking/rumor scene.. KNOW who you're hanging out with. sit down with yourself, and figure out what kind of person you want to be, who you are right now, what improvements you can make, and the steps it takes to get there.
