You and Your Child may be the greatest magazine in the history of Parenting magazines, but there is one thing it is missing, you.
Here at YYC Headquarters we are trying to establish a more interactive relationship with our readers. It seems the best way for us to get started is to start holding events. The first of which is our Halloween gathering here at YYC in Nowhere, New York.
There are some other events you should have on your radar as well;
YYC Christmas Party; December 18th (6PM-8PM for Children 8PM-10PM for Parents)
YYC New Year Benefit concert; December 31st-January 1st.
We hope to see you there! Bring the whole family, all of our events are family friendly unless otherwise noted.
Excitedly,
Avery Schrader

Get Creative for your Candy:
Holloween Costume inspiration
Every year we see the excitement in our children's eyes as that day nears, the day they know they get to stay up past bedtime and waltz around in a scary costume hunting for the greatest treasure of them all: Candy.
Tip #1: Don't be afraid of Hands-On
Creating your own costume can be cheaper, more unique and a whole lot more fun. Get your children involved in the creation of thier costume.
Tip #2: Be resourceful
Put all that lipstick, old clothing and superglue to work! Almost anything can be used in some way to add a little spunk to your get-up.
Tip #3: Be Crazy
Thinking outside the box is key for a successful costume. Think of your child's favorite movie, book, or toy. These are great places to start for costume ideas.

The
Importance Of Tradition.
It is that time of year again. Candy, turkey, presents and family. Fall tends to be the beginning of the holiday season. From rememberance to presents, tradition can be a huge part of our lives.
But why?
.
Tradition holds a family together, some may say. For Children and parents alike. The shared excitement and family time is important in any household.
It is important to instill in your children that as fun as collecting all the candy you can fit in a pillowcase and eating it all in one night can be, family time is equally important.
Having tradition and routine for the holiday season creates a family pride, and that is something to be passes on through generations.
