I am owner of Vintage Belle. A dreamer that turned it into a reality
A lover of all things vintage and quirky. I love creating, writing and seeking out the extraordinary things that make life wonderful. When I am done for the day I like to settle down with tea, toast and jam..but who doesn't?
I'm the owner and creator behind Annata Tesoro, an Etsy shop, Facebook page and bespoke craft business dedicated to upcycling vintage papers into beautiful keepsakes. I've always been an avid reader and adore the smell and atmosphere in old bookshops, and after making my own silk flower bouquet for my own wedding, I had an idea.
Absolutely beautiful shop, a favourite here at Vintage Belle.
I made my silk bouquet as I didn't want my flowers to fade or die - but how about paper flowers instead? I made a few individual paper roses and listed them on eBay as an experiment, and someone messaged me and asked if I could make a whole bouquet! Using an antique copy of Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen, I created a bespoke, dozen-paper rose bouquet bound in antique ribbons and lace. She was over the moon as nobody in the UK is making paper bouquets - they're common in the USA but not so much over here.
This spawned a whole range of paper craft - I now make paper christmas decorations, greetings cards, individual roses, bouquets, double-stemmed roses, decoupage picture frames, and delicate jewellery and gift boxes. I love taking an old book, music manuscript, or antique newspaper and preserving it forever in a new, exciting way. I especially love it when someone asks me to source a certain book or piece of music for them - nothing like hunting down an elusive old tome from the back of a dusty bookshop! Recently, I've been working on Valentines card orders, using Beatles music paper cut into heart shapes and sewn onto red card with my antique Singer treadle machine. I'm also working on some custom pieces, including and Alice in Wonderland picture frame for someone's wedding photo, and a dozen extra large Alice in Wonderland roses to fill a beautiful antique vase.

10 of the best romantic nights in

I know what you may be thinking, fairy lights, tented bed...only seen in movies. Well you are WRONG!

If you dare to be a bit adventurous and want to surprise your loved one with a romantic night in, then take your pick from the top ten below.

1. Camping indoors

Make it a date night occurence
Bring the outdoors in. You can either pitch a two man tent indoors or use sheeting and hang it with pegs or from a pole, like a makeshift teepee. Fill your little den with blankets and pillows. Hang a string of fairy lights around the tent and voila...a romantic little hideaway. In true campfire style do not allow the use of any technology, instead rely on each others company, play some games and you could even melt marshmallows over the gas ring.
2. Photo Fun
You can be as serious or as silly as you want to be taking pictures of each other around the house. Find some unusual items, wooly jumpers or old costumes and start snapping away to a good time. You can go all out with lights and backdrops if you are able to. When you’re done taking the pictures, you can play around with them with your favorite photo editing software to make them black and white, sepia, or add other effects.
3. Movie Marathon
Choose the best films (romantic of course) and snuggle up, turn the lights out for added cosiness
4. Dine In
Cook for each other, be adventurous, cook food that involves using your hands...exotic is best. Light some candles and fragrance the room, dress to impress!
5. Treasure Hunt

Hide something special somewhere in the house or have your self as the treasure!

Make clues and send him on a treasure hunt around the house...the great thing about this idea is it is limited to your own imagination.

6.100 kisses game

Exactly as the title suggests...the aim of the game is to kiss each other in 100 different ways, start with a light peck and move to number 100.

Ensure maximum kissability and prepare your lips with sugarscrub and vaseline.

7. Read to each other
There is nothing better than listening to each others voice. Choose a book both of you are fond of and read to each other, this is nice to do at any time but if you are wanting romance then choose a romantic novel...Not just for teens, Nicholas Sparks is a romantic soul.
8. At home Spa
Create a little sanctuary at home. give each other facials and even have fun with hairstyles (yes...let him try to fashion your hair) and nails. Then as the evening ends you could end with a massage.
9. Recreate a romantic movie scene
Recreate a scene from a romantic movie...one you both know and love. Dress the part and spend the day settinmg the scene.
10. Draw each other

Think Vanilla Sky...the romantic part, where Tom and Penelope Cruz draw each other.

Or Titanic? Have fun, study each other.

Go have fun...do it often and be spontaneous!

Love is wonderful after all

Be Beautiful...Pin Up Style!
I have searched for the best beauty tips for that vintage pin up look and am glad to say I have found some of the best and collated them all together right here for you beautiful people.

Vintage Pony

1. Brush unwashed hair to eliminate all tangles

2. Back comb at the crown. If you have a fringe comb to one side.

3. Gather all hair into a high pony tail and secure with a band. the backcombing would have created volume.

4. Finish with a spritz of hairspray and a bow or ribbon for that fab vintage look.

How to create a Vintage look for your eyes:

1. Apply a base of light coloured shadow over the entire lid and socket.

2. Using a darker shade sweep across the lid from the inside corner.

3. Using a Black kohl pencil draw a line above the lash line and continue the line out as long as your eyebrow. (you could use liquid liner for a more defined look)

4. using a dark grey eye shadow blend from the outer corner of the lid and sweep across the top of your socket to create a line (see photo above).

5. Voila! Now just show off those peepers!
