Hello, my name is Ashley Henneman. I grew up in a small town of five-hundred people where everybody knows your name. Anyone who has lived in a small town knows there are some good things and some bad things about it. A pro about living in a small town is that it is extremely trustworthy. My family and I have never locked our doors and when we have to run into the local grocery store quickly, we do not even shut our car off. A con is that everyone knows everything about everyone; there is no such thing as secrets in small towns.
My family truly means everything to me. I just have one younger sister who turns fourteen in December. I also am an animal lover so my pets are members of my family. That includes two horses, two cats, and a puppy. My parents are a little free spirited, but they inspire me every day; you could even assume they are a little eccentric. I am not only close with my parents, but my grandparents as well. My grandparents are over almost every weekend, but, unfortunately, my grandfather has pancreatic cancer so he will not be with us for very long.
The reason I started writing is that it is how I express myself. I loved to read when I was little, reading eventually turned into copping down quotes I liked, and then I would write about how I felt about those quotes. I almost use writing as a copping mechanism.
The reason I choose to write about eccentric news is that I am a little strange myself. I am also one who believes in true beauty that comes from within, and I believe many strange things have beauty in their own way. I want my readers to be amused and share what they learn with their peers. Eccentric is a fun magazine that everyone can enjoy.
