Shawn Mendes- a sweet voiced,dreamy-faced 18-year old Canadian singer whose name, at the moments, is inextricably connected with the words "Vine sensation" was born on auguest 8th, 1998, in Toronto Ontario. This pop senesation started his music career in 2013 after posting his first 6 second singing clip on Vine of Ed Sheeran's, "Give Me Love" he then went viral. Now with over 1.31 million Twitter followers, nearly 1.4 million on Instagram, and 2.8 million on Vine Shawn is considered the third biggest musician on Vine.
But with his popularity growing each day this pop star still managed to finish his sophomore year of high school. "I was finding it very difficult to sit in class and focus because my mind kept wandering, " he admits. " I had to say, when I'm in New York, thats the place to focus on (the music career), but now I'm gonna focus on chemistry."

After Shawn's high school year in 2014 he then released his debut EP "The Shawn Mendes" including his hit single "Life Of The Party", which reached No.24 on the Billboard making Shawn the youngest artist to enter the charts top 25 with a debut song. While Shawn didn't write "Life Of The Party", he felt so connected to the lyrics, he knew he had to make it his. "The first part is ' I love it when you just don't care, I love when you dance like there's nobody there.' Its about being happy with who you are, " he explains. " As a 18-year old going through high school, thats what we struggle with- figuring out who we are and who we want to be."
