i recently discovered this beautiful staircase located in the paris museum “musee gustave moreau”, dedicated to the famous painter docteur moreau. the extravagantly designed building is filled to the brim with hundreds upon hundreds of his paintings and even with those on display, there are still a couple thousand of them resting in storage

YUM
Makes 6 – 8 party bites
Ingredients:
6-8 slices of bread [gluten-free, whole wheat, etc.]
1/2 cup hummus [store bought or homemade]
1 avocado – halved, pitted and peeled
4 plum tomatoes, halved lengthwise, cores and seeds removed
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
salt + pepper to taste
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
Arrange the tomatoes on your baking sheet, cut sides up, in a single layer. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Season with salt and pepper.
Roast for 25-30 minutes, until the tomatoes are beginning to caramelize.
While the tomatoes roast, toast your bread. Using a cookie cutter or circular object, cut out 1-2 circles per toast, depending on how big the piece of bread is.
Spread ½-1 tablespoon of hummus on each circular toast.
In a bowl or plate, mash avocado with a fork, leaving large chunks.
Layer the mashed avocado over hummus, season with salt + pepper, and then top with a roasted [or fresh] tomato.
Serve immediately.
Optional: top with goat cheese or feta or serve on the side.

I want to be invited to a party now just so I can make this. Sometimes when you think you are creative, you realize you ain't got nothing on making good finger foods. Good thing I found this. Bring it on!
DIY: Marilyn Escrobar's Cool Jars
Got a little crafty in between finals and made these bad boys. Super simple DIY I found online a couple weeks ago. Used 3 mason jars(the DIY I found originally used pickle jars), 3 plastic toy animals, krazy glue and Krylon metallic gold spray paint. I’m pretty pleased with the results. :)
Escrobar's own words on the process:
I could of never thought this up on my own. I am glad I came across Marilyn Escrobar's blog. This would make a great gift for a family member if you stick candy in those jars. Come to think of it....hmmm....I might just do it.

Don't you realize? The next time you see sky, it'll be over another town. The next time you take a test, it'll be in some other school. Our parents, they want the best of stuff for us. But right now, they got to do what's right for them. Because it's their time. Their time! Up there! Down here, it's our time. It's our time down here. That's all over the second we ride up Troy's bucket.
Winter is almost upon us. The skiers in the audience are probably excited at the prospect of snow, chilly winter mornings and speeding down a mountain face. But who needs snow? Hop on a flight to beautiful Mieders, Austria and you can get all the thrills of bombing down the hill without the chill. But you better have the stomach for roller coasters, because this ride looks intense!
Yikes! It's called an alpine coaster, and it's basically a sled attached to a rail. As the
YouTube description explains: You reach the summit via a cablecar and then sit on a small car with a brake lever and off you go. Having ridden it once using a little braking, I decided to try it a second time without using the brakes. This is SCARY! Enjoy the ride! That looks SCARY even with brakes.

Austria doesn't play.
