End Sars

Basic human rights are endangered to the citizens of Nigeria. Nigerian women are being raped by members of the police unit, men and women are being tortured. The country is in complete chaos. SARS responded by saying it's all “Fake News” even though there is physical evidence to prove it's not.
SARS (Special Anti Robbery Squad,) a Nigerian police unit that was formed in 1992 to reduce an uprising in crimes including motor vehicle theft, kidnapping, and robbery, has been committing brutal acts of assault and murder against Nigerian natives. On October 8, 2020 a video resurfaced of SARS killing an innocent man in the street. This led to widespread protests calling for justice and police reform.
The objective of the protests is to spread awareness about police brutality, receive justice for the innocent lives that were taken and to reform the Nigerian police units. If the force was to be dismantled, officers would be deployed to other units, and their crimes would not be prosecuted. This is not the first time SARS has killed and harmed innocent people. In 2017 and 2018, the unit was put on hold due to similar concerns. Citizens have been protesting since 2015, but no action has been taken. Nigerians are continuing to protest, but SARS has opened fire on all protesters. At least 56 people have been injured or killed. The president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhargeria, said he disapproves of SARS actions and wants to reform the unit, but nothing has been done to show he wants to move in that direction. Due to his actions, innocent Nigerian people are living their lives in fear everyday.'
