What can I do to prevent diabetes?
Making these seven changes in your daily habits is a good way to start.
1. Becoming more active is one of the best things you can do to make diabetes less likely.
2. Lower your weight. If you're overweight, doing 30 minutes a day of moderate exercise will make a difference.
3. Eat better. Load up on fruits and vegetables, especially the less-starchy kinds such as spinach, broccoli, carrots, and green beans. Add more high-fiber foods into your day. Choose whole-grain foods instead of processed grains -- for example, brown rice instead of white rice (Youth Diabetes).
4. Make sleep a priority. Not getting enough sleep regularly makes losing weight harder.
5. Having the right mind set can help. Accept that you won’t do things perfectly every day, but pledge to do your best most of the time (Youth Diabetes).
You will not develop type 2 diabetes automatically if you have pre-diabetes. For some people with pre-diabetes, early treatment can actually return blood glucose levels to the normal range. With these steps, you can stay healthier longer and lower your risk of diabetes.

3) Gestational Diabetes
This type affects females during pregnancy. Some women have very high levels of glucose in their blood, and their bodies are unable to produce enough insulin to transport all of the glucose into their cells, resulting in progressively rising levels of glucose (Diabetes).
Diagnosis of gestational diabetes is made during pregnancy.
The majority of gestational diabetes patients can control their diabetes with exercise and diet. Between 10% and 20% of them will need to take some kind of blood-glucose-controlling medications. Undiagnosed or uncontrolled gestational diabetes can raise the risk of complications during childbirth (Bentley). The baby may be bigger than he/she should be.
How to Determine Whether You Have Diabetes, Pre-diabetes or Neither
Doctors can determine whether a patient has a normal metabolism, pre-diabetes or diabetes in one of three different ways - there are three possible tests:
The A1C test
- at least 6.5% means diabetes
- between 5.7% and 5.99% means pre-diabetes
- less than 5.7% means normal (Williams Textbook of
Endocrinology)
The FPG (fasting plasma glucose) test
- at least 126 mg/dl means diabetes
- between 100 mg/dl and 125.99 mg/dl means pre-diabetes
- less than 100 mg/dl means normal (Williams Textbook of Endocrinology)
The OGTT (oral glucose tolerance test)
- at least 200 mg/dl means diabetes
- between 140 and 199.9 mg/dl means pre-diabetes
- less than 140 mg/dl means normal (Williams Textbook of Endocrinology)

In Proverbs 31:30 it says, “Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting (doesn’t last) but a woman who fears to Lord is to be praised.” We will never regret modesty. It might be hard to be different from the mold of the other young people and we might wonder, “Why even bother? It doesn’t make a difference. No one notices.” We shouldn’t let ourselves get in that trap! It does make a difference and people do notice, but that is part of modesty. To have a, “meek and quiet spirit.” The men in our lives that do value modesty will thank us at some point for practicing it. Let’s renew our minds and be modest!

Why is Modesty Important?
Modesty is important because it is important to God. God has made men attracted to women’s bodies and women attracted to men’s bodies. That is great! God doesn’t want his men or women to stumble, though. Because he said our lives should be free from lust he wants us to be sure we are helping each other not to lust. When you see a lot of skin it gets difficult not to. Now, I am not saying we are responsible for what others do, if someone has a lustful heart they will lust no matter how much clothing we are wearing!
We do need to be considerate to others, however, and not purposefully through stumbling block in our neighbor’s path. This is not meant to judge anyone. This is to give a bit of insight and to encourage us to be modest. Examine our hearts. Examine our motives. If we find deficiencies there we should ask God to renew our minds (Romans12:2) and get on board with modesty!

The ways that the workers are treated is just terrible, and they companies knowing what they are doing to the workers are even worse. The workers go to work scared every day, but have no choice because they have a family that they have to support. No matter how bad the pay or work conditions are. Do you still want clothes that bad anymore?

Gap and American Eagle, which had orders with That’s It Sportswear (another clothing factory) declined official comment for the story accusing them of knowing about how That’s It Sportswear runs it company, but both have a “vendor code of conduct” that requires producers to meet the standards of local labor laws. American Eagle is aware that some factories are overworking employees and addressed the issue head-on with factory management at That’s It Sportswear within the past year and told them they would not be penalized for overworking employees, even if it was in violation of labor laws that prohibit work weeks longer than 60 hours (globallabourrights.org). The company has made it a priority that employees get paid for their hours, which is difficult to do when the factory is hiding time sheets.

Their pay stubs did not show the extra overtime, but the workers said they were paid more than the stubs reflected. When brand managers from the Western retailers who contract with the factory arrive at the factory, supervisors instruct the workers to lie about their hours and their treatment if brand representatives interviewed them (globallabourrights.org). It’s just plain wrong to put the workers in that position to have to lie.
Corporate monitoring has again proved a miserable failure. Another factory called Harvest Rich was certified by the U.S. apparel industries Worldwide Responsibly Apparel Production (WRAP) monitoring group. Not only did the U.S. companies fail to notice the beatings, the child workers, the mandatory overtime, but also that not one single worker in Harvest Rich was paid the correct overtime pay legally. Any worker daring to ask for the right wages, or that their most basic legal rights to be respected, would immediately be attacked, beaten and fired (law.harvard.edu). Let’s remember Harvest Rich is not the only company treating their workers in that way.

Their hours are tracked with a finger-punch machine that scans a fingertip to clock them in and out of the building, but little do people know the factory hid the extra overtime by having them clock out at the time they are suppose to, and then had them back working at their machines. The excess hours were tracked separately. If the real hours were showed to the buyer they would not have work. Other workers said they clocked in and out usually with the “finger-punch” but that they signed two sets of pay sheets. (globallabourrights.org). The one sheet indicated the hours they actually worked and a second that showed they worked only the legal amount of overtime.

The Cleveland Cavilers has, so far, the most overall talent on their team. Even though their strengths overwhelmingly overcome their weaknesses, the Cavs can be stopped. And no one knows, maybe they have major injuries, the coaching or the coaching scheme doesn’t fit, maybe there will be player conflicts on and off the court? Whatever the weakness is, whoever their opponent is that night, they need to attack that weakness no matter what. This team is incredibly good, and blatant or obvious weaknesses won’t be reviled to the naked eye at first glance. Just like any other major setback, any mountain that needs claiming, or a simple job in life, always start at the base.

Though few, every team has some weaknesses. One down play of the team that could have an effect is possibly too much talent. Yes, the team is good, yes, the team has a great bench, but that’s just it. Each newly added talent, combined with the talent that has been in Cleveland for while, are all used to the way they each, individually, play the game. Getting use to new styles of play and new roles is hard to do, especially with the caliber, talent, and experience of this team.
Team chemistry problems are hard to deal with as coaches and players. No one likes being told they need to step down from the role they have on the team, and in some cases some players don’t have the talent to step into new roles on the team they have been assigned. As stated before, the Cavilers starting lineup and bench talent is through the roof, but every player is used to their style and role of the game. New styles and new roles can cause break downs in team play and chemistry, offensive and defensively. Erving, Love, James, other starters, and the bench will not be used to the amount of talent that surrounds them making it hard to cope with their own style of play. Offensively certain players might feel that they aren’t getting the minutes or shots they deserve, or maybe feel there is too much talent and feel over powered. Defensively some players are quicker and stronger than others, others are slower, making weak side help, double teams, and ball pressure hard to figure out with other, newer talent.
Yet another small weakness of the Cavilers is there depth at the center position. Anderson Vareijao has had knee problems in the past, standing at 6 foot 11 inches and weighing 267 lbs., not stating he isn’t healthy, but the big man will need breaks during games. With very little experience, depth, and talent at the center position in Brendan Haywood (2nd string) and Alex Kirk (3rd string), makes it the perfect opportunity to post up and attack the rim. Teams like Houston, Chicago and Memphis actually have great chances on the offensive side against Cleveland. With Houston’s center Dwight Howard, Chicago’s center Pau Gasol, and Memphis’s center Mark Gasol, all with great post moves and muscle make them hard to guard. Anderson Vareijao isn’t the best at post defense making him no match for the previously listed big men, with being tired down, and simply not playing well makes it a perfect driving lane to rim, or for post ups. With guards like Houston’s James Harden, Chicago’s Derek Rose, and Memphis’s O.J. Mayo, along with their centers, makes these guards lethal from the perimeter, tying in with their speed and quickness, makes these guards perfect to attack Cleveland.

Dr. Emoto has also done other experiments concerning the waters reaction to words. In the water experiment, he purified and decontaminated water. Next, he said a word or phrase with a positive or negative connotation, depending on the bottle. Then these bottles were subsequently frozen. Afterwards, he had professional photographers take photographs of the crystalline structures in the ice that formed. The results are astounding. All water that had positive words like praise, prayers, and words of affirmation, formed crystalline structures more aesthetically pleasing to the eye and far more symmetrical. Water that was spoken to negatively for example “You make me sick,” formed aesthetically less pleasing crystalline structures and are less symmetrical. This is another experiment proving that words honestly do have an effect on water, therefore our body, because it is 60% water.
