Whoa! Hattie Watson

GOING MADDIE FOR

HATTIE

Was there a singular event or reason you decided to start a modeling career?

I needed a creative outlet in my life and it was something I had thought about and had photographers tell me about doing so I decided to try it out. I had tried so many things to express myself and get the creative attention I needed, and nothing ever seemed to work except this. Working on another creative outlet right now though.

Do you have some favorite themes for photoshoots? If so, what are they?

I really like doing more natural and pretty. Very Urban Outfitters editorial-like. I also like doing more drama-type black and white fashion sometimes. Also, doing shoots that are a little on the more different side are really fun and interesting to do and let me connect with my inner weird-artist side.

Hattie Watson is one of my favorite ATL models out there. She's got the whole ginger thing going...and honestly it's very well for her. She's hot. Here is a little bit of her recent interview with the Pulp Girls blog. Check it out.

8 Foods You Didn't Know Contained Meat

Posted by DarlingPD Views: 20,843

Some Foods You Didn't Know Contain

MEAT!

Barbecue Baked Lays

America's favorite chip contains "natural flavors" that include chicken.

Minute Maid Juices

Minute Maid's fortified juice line contains Vitamin D. Awesome, right? Except that the vitamin D is derived from lanolin which is an oil secreted by sheep? Bah!! WTF!

Velveeta

We're back on the rennet train. Kraft has confirmed that many of their products contains animal enzymes (calf stomachs). Yum

                             Guiness

Isinglass, a product using in the clarification process for many ales (including Guinness), is made of fish' swim bladders. Though Guinness says that very little isinglass remains in the finished product, it still could have some traces. Nice!

                     Smarties

The purple smarties are dyed using carmine, which is taken from cochineals (beetle-like insects). Also look out for Red 4 - that's carmines, too. All for the love of colorful little treats huh?

                       Worcestershire Sauce

There's always been something suspect about this sauce though...just saying. This zesty sauce contains anchovies. I knew it!

Parmesan Cheese

Really? Parmesan cheese requires rennet in the curdling process. The only problem? Rennet is made of stomaches of newborn calves. Fuck You!

Altoids

These mints contain gelatin made from the collagen inside animal's skin and bones. Rock on!

I eat meat, but I have plenty of friends and family that don't. Eating just got a little bit more diffcult. Check this out.

Shepard Fairey Might Go To Prison?

Posted by HorrorBBQ Views: 14,040

Street artist Shepard Fairey, pled guilty to misdemeanor criminal contempt charges connected with his altering evidence in a 2009 court battle over his use of a copyrighted photograph as the basis for his renowned Barack Obama Hope poster. Fairey admitted deleting documents and fabricating others and lying to his lawyers after one of his employees discovered the documents Fairey believed destroyed.

Ironically, the original copyright infringement beef between Fairey and the AP was settled; Fairey won’t use any more AP images without permission, and will split his profits from the poster image, but the criminal contempt conviction might put Fairey in prison for up to six months. Sentencing is set for July 16.

Fried Chicken in Medieval Times

Posted by Wildcats Views: 15,146

SOUTHERN FRIED

Deep-frying has a long history and fried chicken was well known throughout Europe before it even reached the United States. People have been frying many different foods, such as meat, fish, bread, and vegetables, for a long time because frying is fuel-efficient. Fritters were the first foods ever to be fried and these were enjoyed in medieval times.

Fricassee was also popular and this is a dish, which is simmered in butter rather than fried. Chicken Maryland is reminiscent of fricassee and a good example of how recipes vary through culture and time. Chicken Maryland was served in restaurants as early as 1878.

Karlheinz Weinberger: Photos

The exhibition presents the rarely shown work of the photographer Karlheinz Weinberger (1921–2006). Together with magazines and a selection of vintage apparel, the pictures document a youth culture in Zurich that emerged after World War II whose members sought to subvert contemporary notions of “Swiss correctness.”

Cool photos by this pretty unknown photographer. The show is currently up at Kunstmuseum Basel till April 15th 2012. Less then a week before the show comes down. If you are in the area check it out.

Weinberger spent the largest part of his life working as a warehouseman for Siemens-Albis in Zurich. In his free time, he was a self-taught photographer, portraying his lovers and people he met in the street. From the late 1940s on, he frequently published his pictures in “Der Kreis,” a homosexual magazine produced in Zurich from 1943 until 1967 that garnered international attention, pseudonymously signing his work as “Jim.” In 1958, he launched a major project for which he would photograph a group of teenagers, the city’s so-called “Halbstarke,” over an extended period of time. Weinberger’s unfailingly respectful approach allowed him to capture the non-conformism of these “rowdies” with regard to social convention and their play with stereotypes of masculinity and femininity, most readily evident in the way they dressed.

Jets Chasing UFO in Somerset

Posted by DarlingPD Views: 14,537

The scrambled warplanes were seen intercepting a mystery object hovering over Somerset. Dad-of-three Richard Bird, 38, told how the supersonic jets probed the “strange sock-shaped” entity above his garden in Bath.He said: “They were having a really good look.”

Fellow local Sean Whyte described the UFO as “white and rocket-shaped”. Another witness said: “The jets kept circling it. It was very strange.” The Met Office last night said in the wake of the Typhoons being scrambled on Thursday that the object was NOT a weather balloon.

The racket as the jets smashed the sound barrier sparked 999 calls across Somerset, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and the West Midlands.

Defence chiefs said the red alert was caused by a civilian helicopter issuing a hijack mayday by mistake. An MoD spokesman insisted after the planes returned to RAF Coningsby, Lincs: “Crews did not report any UFOs.”

Transformers Wedding Ring?

Posted by HorrorBBQ Views: 15,925

As if things couldn't get any more weirder with people taking retro childhood shit to new levels. But, when it comes to saving the universe...some childhood extremes are okay. Hmm, lets see specifically, a ring with the Decepticon logo. Why? Because some women go for bad boys. It’s the adrenal rush of danger, I guess. To us Autobots, it’s always “Let’s just be friends.”

Wedding Ring?

I wonder if the wedding ceremony was at Chuck E. Cheese.
